旃陀羅（旃茶羅云嚴熾惡業自持標幟其人若行搖鈴自標或杖破頭之竹若不然者王與之罪或云殺人謂屠煞者種類之總名也）。

旃陀羅 (Cāṇḍāla; meaning severe and fierce evil karma, bearing distinctive emblems themselves. When such a person walks, they ring a bell to mark themselves, or carry a split-topped bamboo cane; if they do not, the king punishes them. Some say killer; it is a general name for the class of butchers and slaughterers).
