韋提希子阿闍世王（吠題呬勝身吠是勝義題呬云身即東洲之名毘題訶男聲呼此女聲呼此是山神名從彼乞得即母稱也阿杜多設咄路此云未生怨別名折指王名也）。

King Ajātaśatru, son of Vaidehī: (Vaidehī means 'Superior Body' [勝身]; vai is 'superior' and dehī is 'body'—namely, the name of the eastern continent. Vaideha is the masculine pronunciation; this is the feminine form. It is the name of a mountain goddess; because [his mother] prayed to her and obtained him, it became his mother's designation. Ajātaśatru means 'Unborn Enemy' [未生怨]; another name is 'Broken Finger' [折指], the king's name).
