涅（年結反說文黑土在水中者從水土曰聲也有從工作涅非也）。

-nir- (nie): (nian + jie [niè]. The Shuowen says: "Black earth in water." It follows "water" [shui] and "earth" [tu], with yue [曰] as phonetic. There are those who write it following gong [工], which is incorrect).
