黿鼉（魚袁反三蒼似鼈而大也下徒多反山海經江水足鼉郭璞曰似蜥蜴大者長一丈有鱗彩皮可以為鼓詩云鼉鼓逢逢是也字體從黽從[咒-几+(乏-之+(中/工))]聲也）。

黿鼉 [giant softshell turtle and alligator] (The first character has the fanqie 魚袁 [yuan]. The Sancang says: "It resembles a softshell turtle but is larger." The second character has the fanqie 徒多 [tuo]. The Shanhaijing says: "The river water abounds in alligators." Guo Pu says: "It resembles a lizard; the large ones are one zhang long, have scaly patterns on their hide, and can be used to make drums." The Shijing says: "The alligator drums boom"; this is it. The standard character form takes 黽 as radical and has the phonetic [咒-几+(乏-之+(中/工))]).
