芙蓉（又作扶同附俱反說文扶渠花未發為菡萏花已發者為芙蓉也）。
Lotus flower (芙蓉: also written 扶, pronounced the same, *bju-kju* fanqie. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Before the flower of the lotus has opened it is *handan* (菡萏); once the flower has opened it is *furong* (芙蓉)').
