怯羸（上欠劫反顧野王云怯畏劣也家語云由能勇而不能怯而也古今正字從心去聲下累危反杜注左傳云羸弱也許叔重注淮南子云劣也說文瘦也從羊羸聲也）。

Timid and emaciated (怯羸; the upper character is fanqie 欠劫; Gu Yewang states: "*Qie* means fearful and inferior." The *Jiayu* states: "Zilu could be brave but could not be timid." The *Gujin zhengzi* says: "From heart, phonetic in *qu*." The lower character is fanqie 累危; Du's commentary on the *Zuo Zhuan* states: "*Lei* means weak." Xu Shuzhong's commentary on the *Huainanzi* states: "Inferior." The *Shuowen* states: "Emaciated; from sheep, phonetic in *lei*").
