Invite (邀請: for the upper character, the sound is 𦝫 [*yāo*]. Du's commentary on the *Zuo zhuan* says: "*Yāo* means to intercept." The *Mao Shi Commentary* says: "It means to seek." The *Gu-jin zhengzi* says: "It means to follow." It takes the radical 辵 'walk' with 敫 *jiǎo* phonetic; the sound of 敫 is 晈 [*jiǎo*]).
