匱乏（上逵位反說文匱匣也從匚匚音方貴聲下凡法反說文引春秋傳曰反正為乏乏少也）。

Lacking and destitute (匱乏: for the upper character, *kuí* - *wèi* fanqie [*kuì*]. The *Shuowen jiezi* says: "A *kuì* is a coffer." It takes the radical 匚 [box]; the sound of 匚 is 方 [*fāng*]; with 貴 *guì* phonetic. For the lower character, *fán* - *fǎ* fanqie [*fá*]. The *Shuowen jiezi* cites the *Chunqiu zhuan*: "Reversing 正 [upright] makes 乏 [deficient]; *fá* means lacking").
