失緒（上失字說文縱也從手乞聲也下徐呂反毛詩傳緒業也韻詮緒次也說文絲端也從糸者聲也糸音覔也）。

Lost succession (for the former character 失, the *Shuowen* says: "It means to let go; it is formed with 'hand' (手) and yi (乞) as phonetic"; for the latter [character 緒], xu + lü fan; the commentary on the *Mao Poetry* says: "*Xu* means enterprise"; the *Yunquan* says: "*Xu* means succession"; the *Shuowen* says: "The end of a silk thread; it is formed with 'silk' (糸) and zhe (者) as phonetic"; 糸 is pronounced mi).
