鮮於（上仙淺反正從是從少作尟賈注國語云鮮寡鄭注禮記云罕也字書云少也說文從魚羴省聲羴音羶經從甚作尠俗用也）。

鮮於 (The upper character is fanqie xi[an] + qi[an]. The standard form derives from 是 and 少, written as 尟. Jia's commentary on the Guoyu says: '鮮 means few.' Zheng's commentary on the Liji says: 'It means rare.' Character dictionaries say: 'It means few.' The Shuowen says: 'It derives from 魚 with a reduced 羴 as phonetic.' 羴 is pronounced 羶. In the sūtra it derives from 甚, written as 尠, which is vulgar usage.)
