最勝（上祖外反去聲字也韻詮云最甚也考聲勝也要也史記云功極多也說文總計也從曰音莫報反取意也下昇證反韻英云勝尅也又勝負也考聲云強也說文任也從力從媵省聲媵字從女券意也券音卷也）。

Supreme 最勝 (The upper character has the fanqie zu + wai, in the falling tone; the Yunquan says: “最 means extremely.” The Kaosheng says: “It means superior, essential.” The Shiji says: “Merit is exceedingly great.” The Shuowen says: “To sum up; it derives from 曰 [say], pronounced mo + bao, taking the meaning.” The lower character has the fanqie sheng + zheng; the Yunying says: “勝 means to overcome; also victory and defeat.” The Kaosheng says: “Strong.” The Shuowen says: “Competent; it derives from li 力 [strength] and an abbreviated phonetic ying 媵; the character 媵 derives from nü 女 [woman] with the sense of quan 券; the character 券 is pronounced juan”).
