蟲蛆（上逐融反尒雅有足曰蟲說文從三虫經文單作虫非也下七餘反考聲云敗肉中蟲也形聲字且音即餘反）。

Worms and maggots (蟲蛆): The upper character has the fanqie *zhú* + *róng* (蟲). The *Erya* says: 'Those with feet are called *chóng*.' The *Shuowen [jiezi]* derives it from three 虫; writing simply 虫 in the scripture is incorrect. The lower character has the fanqie *qī* + *yú* (蛆). The *Kaosheng* says: 'Insects in rotten flesh.' It is a phono-semantic compound; 且 has the fanqie *jí* + *yú*.
