技藝（渠綺反說文巧也從手經從人誤也下霓計反周禮六藝禮樂書數射馭顧野王曰藝猶材也杜預云藝法制也字書云藝能也從云蓻聲也蓻音同上）。

技藝 (the upper character is *qú* + *qǐ* [fanqie: jì]; the Shuowen jiezi says: "Skill or cleverness; derived from 'shǒu' (hand)"; the sūtra writing it with 'rén' (person) is an error. The lower character is *ní* + *jì* [fanqie: yì]; the Zhouli speaks of the six arts: rites, music, writing, reckoning, archery, and charioteering. Gu Yewang says: "'Yì' is like ability or talent." Du Yu says: "'Yì' means rules and institutions." The Zishu says: "Skill and ability; derived from 'yún' with 'yì' (蓻) as phonetic"; 'yì' (蓻) has the same pronunciation as above).
