Indulging in pleasure (pronounced 答 + 南 fanqie. The Erya says: “Pursuing pleasure excessively.” The Yunying says: “To be fond of.” The Shuowen says it derives from the fire radical; in the sūtra it is written with the body radical, which is also permissible. Sometimes written as '媅' or '妉'. The lower character has the sound 洛.)
