比度 (*bēi* + *mǐ* [fanqie: bǐ]; the Jixun says: "'Bǐ' means to compare by analogy." Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary on the Zhouli says: "'Bǐ' is like checking or comparing." The lower character is *táng* + *luò* [fanqie: dù]; Jia [Kui]'s commentary on the Guoyu says: "'Dù' means to calculate or consider"; it is a phonetic loan character).
