栴檀香（梵語白檀香名也上之然反下唐蘭反此香出南海有赤白二種赤者為上此下經文有香花名前袟已具釋）。

栴檀香 (the Sanskrit name for white sandalwood [candana]. The upper character is *zhī* + *rán* [fanqie]; the lower character is *táng* + *lán* [fanqie]. This incense is produced in the Southern Seas; there are two varieties, red and white, the red being superior. The names of fragrant flowers in the sūtra text below have already been fully explained in the preceding fascicles).
