撟詐（嬌夭反顧野王曰假稱謂之撟字書妄也說文從手喬聲也經文從矢作矯俗用非正體也）。

撟詐 (*jiāo* + *yǎo* [fanqie: jiǎo]; Gu Yewang says: "To make false pretenses is called 'jiǎo'." The Zishu says: "Deceitful or feigned." The Shuowen jiezi says: "Derived from 'shǒu' (hand) with 'qiáo' (喬) as phonetic." In the sūtra text it is written with 'shǐ' (arrow) as 矯, which is a popular usage and not the standard form).
