諛讇（上庾朱反莊子云不擇是非而言謂之諛也蒼頡篇云諛諂佞也說文從言臾聲下勑斂反何休公羊傳云諂猶佞也鄭注禮記云諂謂傾身以下也莊子云希意道言為諂說文諂諛也從言臽聲也）。

Flattering and fawning (諛讇: the first character has the fanqie yu-zhu; the Zhuangzi states that speaking without selecting right from wrong is called 諛; the Cangjiepian states that 諛 means flatteringly fawning; the Shuowen states that it is formed from 'speech' [言] with 臾 as phonetic; the second character has the fanqie chi-lian; He Xiu's commentary on the Gongyang zhuan states that 諂 is like fawning; Zheng's commentary on the Liji states that 諂 means bowing down one's body to humble oneself; the Zhuangzi states that following another's wishes in speaking is 諂; the Shuowen states that 諂 means to flatter, formed from 'speech' [言] with 臽 as phonetic).
