採揀（又作[柬*ㄆ]或作練同力見反埤蒼揀擇也禮記揀擇英㑺是也序文作挾胡頰反挾持非此用也）。

採揀 (cǎi jiǎn: [揀 is] also written as [柬*ㄆ] or as 練; all are lì-jiàn fanqie. The Picang says: 'Jiǎn means to select.' In the Liji: 'Select (jiǎn) outstanding talents' is an example. The text of the preface has it as 挾 (hú-jié fanqie); 挾持 (to hold fast) is not the sense used here).
