剖判（普口反蒼頡篇剖析也顧野王剖猶破也杜注左傳中分也說文亦判也從刀咅聲咅音土口反下普半反毛詩傳曰判分也又破也又散也說文從刀半聲也）。

剖判 (the first syllable: fanqie: 普 + 口; the Cangjie pian says: '剖 means to dissect.' Gu Yewang says: '剖 is like breaking open.' Du's commentary on the Zuo zhuan says: 'To divide in the middle.' The Shuowen says: 'It also means to separate; derived from 刀 (knife) with 咅 as phonetic;' 咅 is pronounced with the fanqie: 土 + 口. The second syllable: fanqie: 普 + 半; the Mao commentary on the Shijing says: '判 means to divide; it also means to break open; it also means to disperse.' The Shuowen says: 'Derived from 刀 (knife) with 半 as phonetic').
