[Grip of a bow] (Fanqie of 巴 [p-] and 雅 [-ɣa]: what can be held in a single hand is a 'bǎ' (把). The *Shuowen jiezi* says, "'Bǎ' means to hold or grasp." The sūtra text writes it with the "bow" radical as 弝, which is a modern character).
