緇俗（滓師反毛詩傳云緇黑色也考工記染羽七人為緇案緇俗者即僧眾也俗士也古今正字從糸從[巢-果+(凵@土)][巢-果+(凵@土)]亦聲經作𦃠非也）。

[Monastic and secular] (Fanqie of 滓 [ts-] and 師 [-i]: Mao's commentary on the *Classic of Poetry* says, "'Zī' (緇) means black." The *Kaogongji* says, "Dyeing feathers seven times makes them black (zī)." Here, 'monastic and secular' refers to the monastic assembly and lay people. The *Gujin zhengzi* says, "It is formed from 'silk' (糸) and [巢-果+(凵@土)], which also serves as phonetic." The sūtra writing it as 𦃠 is incorrect).
