倨傲（上居御反下𢾕告反鄭注禮記及杜注左傳皆云倨傲不敬也字書云傲亦倨也尚書云傲慢不友也說文倨不遜也並從人居𢾕皆聲經文從心作慠非本字也）。

倨傲 [Arrogant and haughty] (The upper character is fanqie 居 + 御 [jù]; the lower is fanqie 𢾕 + 告 [ào]. Both Zheng's commentary on the Book of Rites and Du's commentary on the Zuo zhuan state: '倨傲 means disrespectful.' The character dictionaries say: '傲 also means haughty.' The Book of Documents says: 'Haughty and unfriendly.' The Shuowen jiezi says: '倨 means insolent; both have the radical 人, with 居 and 𢾕 as their respective phonetics.' In the scripture it is written with the heart radical as 慠, which is not the original character).
