葦荻 (The first character is pronounced with the fanqie 韋 + 鬼. The second character is pronounced like 狄. The Mao commentary on the Shijing says: jiā is wěi (reeds). Guo's commentary on the Erya says: wěi is also jiālú. Xu Shuzhong's commentary on the Huainanzi says: dí is also guàn. Zheng's commentary on the Yili says: guàn is also fine reeds. The Shuowen says: both take the 'grass' radical, with 韋 and 狄 as phonetic. It is also written 藡, the ancient character for 荻. 雚 is pronounced with the fanqie 活 + 官.)
