屍陀林（正言尸多婆那此名寒林其林幽𨗉而寒因以名也在王舍城側陀者多也死人多迸其中今總指棄屍之處名屍陀林者取彼名）。

屍陀林 (The correct pronunciation is śītavana, which here translates as "Cold Grove." The grove is deep, secluded, and cold, hence the name. It is beside Rājagṛha. 陀 means "many"; dead people were mostly thrown into it. Now generally referring to places where corpses are abandoned as 屍陀林 [śītavana] is adopting that name).
