麋麈（上美悲反前密嚴經中卷已釋訖下朱乳反郭注山海經麈似鹿而大也聲類云尾可以為帚也說文鹿屬也大而一角也從鹿主聲）。

Elk and stag (麋麈) (The first character has the fanqie mei + bei; it was already explained earlier in the middle fascicle of the Ghanavyūha-sūtra. The second character has the fanqie zhu + ru. Guo’s commentary on the Shanhaijing says: “The zhu (麈) resembles a deer but is large.” The Shenglei says: “Its tail can be made into a duster/whisk.” The Shuowen says: “A genus of deer; large and single-horned; it is formed from the ‘deer’ classifier and the phonetic zhu (主)”).
