雷霆（定亭挺三音爾雅云疾雷謂之霆霓蒼頡篇礔礰也說文雷餘聲所以挺出万物也霆亦電也說文鉦鐃也似鈴柄中上下通也）。

雷霆 ("thunder and lightning-bolt"; [霆 has] three sounds: ding, ting, and ting; the Erya says: 'Violent thunder is called ting-ni'; the Cang Jie pian says: '[It means] a crack of thunder'; the Shuowen says: 'The reverberating sound of thunder, that by which all things shoot forth; ting also means lightning'; the Shuowen says: 'A zheng is a nao bell; it resembles a hand-bell, with a hollow handle running through from top to bottom').
