欄楯（上嬾單反正作闌廣雅云闌牢也蒼頡篇闌遮也說文云闌者閑也字從門柬聲下[辰/肉]𨳝反前首楞嚴經上卷已釋訖也）。

Balustrades 欄楯 (The first character has the fanqie 嬾 + 單; its standard form is 闌. The Guangya says: 'Lan (闌) means an enclosure.' The Cangjie pian says: 'Lan (闌) means to obstruct.' The Shuowen says: 'Lan (闌) means a barrier.' The character has the radical 門 and the phonetic component 柬. The second character has the fanqie [辰/肉] + 𨳝; it has already been explained above in the first fascicle of the Śūraṅgama-sūtra).
