磔耶（上張革反廣雅云磔張也開也案磔者今之唐言一𣔳也謂將手大拇指與第二指張開一𣔳是也文字典說從石𱣎聲經從手作[榤-夕+(舛-夕)]誤也𱣎音搩也）。

Diṣṭi (磔耶: the upper character is 張革 fanqie. The *Guangya* states: "*Zhe* (磔) means to stretch open." To examine: *zhe* corresponds to a span (一𣔳) in the current Tang language; that is, the distance spanned by opening the thumb and index finger. The *Wenzi dian shuo* states: "Derived from 石, with 𱣎 as phonetic." The sūtra writes it with 手 as [榤-夕+(舛-夕)], which is an error. 𱣎 is pronounced 搩).
