慳嫉（上苦姧反廣雅云𩋆堅悋也𡌨蒼云𩋆遴也文字典說貪也恡惜也從心堅聲或從革作𩋆古字也下秦悉反王注楚辭云害賢曰嫉古今正字從女疾聲經從心作愱誤也）。

慳嫉 (miserliness and jealousy; the first character is 苦姧反; the Guangya states that 𩋆 means rigid stinginess; the Picang states that 𩋆 means parsimony; the Wenzidian shuo states that it means greed and begrudging; it takes the 'heart' (心) radical with 堅 as phonetic; sometimes written with the 'leather' (革) radical as 𩋆, which is an archaic character; the second character is 秦悉反; Wang [Yi's] commentary on the Chuci states that harming the virtuous is called 嫉; the Gujin zhengzi states that it takes the 'woman' (女) radical with 疾 as phonetic; the sutra writing it with the 'heart' (心) radical as 愱 is an error).
