瑕薉（上暇加反禮記云瑕玉之病也廣雅裂也薉也說文玉之小赤色者也從玉叚聲下音穢顧野王云薉謂不清潔也王注楚辭云惡也廣雅蕪也說文從艸歲聲也經作穢亦通也）。

瑕薉 (upper: *hæ* + *kæ* [xiá]: The *Liji* says: 'Flaw (瑕) is a defect in jade.' The *Guangya* says: 'A fissure; also filth.' The *Shuowen jiezi* says: 'A small reddish spot in jade; follows the jade radical with the phonetic *jiǎ* (叚).' Lower: pronounced *huì* [wèi]: Gu Yewang says: '薉 means unclean.' Wang [Yi]'s commentary on the *Chuci* says: 'Bad.' The *Guangya* says: 'Overgrown.' The *Shuowen jiezi* says: 'Follows the grass radical with the phonetic *suì* (歲).' The sūtra writes 穢, which is also interchangeable).
