嚴麗（郎計反麗好也孔注尚書云麗施也顧野王云麗謂華靡也說文從鹿丽聲也丽音戾）。

Magnificent and beautiful [嚴麗]: [pronounced with the fanqie] lang-ji (郎計反). Lì (麗) means beautiful. Kong [Anguo's] commentary on the Shangshu states: 'Lì means applied/spread.' Gu Yewang states: 'Lì means splendid and luxurious.' The Shuowen [jiezi] says it is formed from [the semantic component] lù (鹿, deer) and [the phonetic component] lì (丽; lì has the sound li).
