植種（上乘力反鄭注周禮根生之屬也孔注尚書植置也方言樹立也說文從木直聲下鍾勇反孔注尚書云種布也顧野王云謂取種布於土中也說文從禾重聲也）。

植種 (The first character has the fanqie 乘 plus 力. Zheng [Xuan's] commentary on the Zhouli says: "Things of the root-growing category." Kong [Anguo's] commentary on the Shangshu says: "Zhi means to establish." The Fangyan says: "To plant and set up." The Shuowen jiezi says: "It is formed from the radical 木 and the phonetic 直." The second character has the fanqie 鍾 plus 勇. Kong [Anguo's] commentary on the Shangshu says: "Zhong means to distribute." Gu Yewang says: "It means taking seeds and sowing them in the ground."
