廣長（上古晃反鄭注禮記云廣猶弘也孔注尚書云廣大也從广嚴撿反黃聲下丈張反毛詩箋云長遠也文字典說云夕也遠也從倒亾從兀從上古化字兀然而化經從艸作萇非經義也）。

Guangchang 廣長 (the first character is fanqie 古 + 晃. Zheng's commentary on the Liji states: "Guang is equivalent to expansive (hong 弘)." Kong's commentary on the Shangshu states: "Guang means grand (da 大); classified under the radical 广, sound 嚴 + 撿 fanqie, with the phonophoric huang 黃." The second character is fanqie 丈 + 張. The Maoshi jian states: "Chang means far-reaching (yuan 遠)." The Wenzidian shuo states: "Long-lasting and distant; classified under inverted 亾, 兀, and the archaic character for hua 化: transforming precipitously (wuran er hua)." The sūtra text writes it under the grass radical as 萇, which does not fit the sūtra's meaning).
