崖險（雅皆反考聲云山㵎邊險岸也說文高邊也從屵圭聲屵音五割反下許撿反賈注國語云險危也玉篇阻難也古今正字從阜僉聲此大行）。

崖險 (Precipitous crags; upper character yá, fanqie yǎ-jiē; the Kaosheng says: 'Perilous bluffs bordering mountain ravines.' The Shuowen says: 'High edges.' It is derived from 屵 [crag] with a 圭 [guī] phonetic; 屵 is pronounced wǔ-gē fanqie. The lower character xiǎn, fanqie xǔ-jiǎn; Jia's commentary to the Guoyu says: 'Xiǎn means perilous.' The Yupian says: 'Obstructed and arduous.' The Gujin zhengzi derives it from 阜 [hill] with a 僉 [qiān] phonetic; this [form] is widely used).
