擐般 (the first character is *gu[ān] + hu[àn]* fanqie, a character used for its borrowed pronunciation. Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan states: '擐 means putting on and wearing clothing.' Its original pronunciation is *huàn*. The Shuowen says: 'wearing armor'; it takes the hand radical with an abbreviated 睘 as phonetic).
