乾拭 (the second character is pronounced with the fanqie 昇 + 織 [shì]. Zheng's Commentary to the Liji says: "Shì means to wipe clean." Guo's Commentary to the Erya says: "Clean." The Gujin zhengzi has it formed with the radical 手 and 式 as phonetic. The scripture writes it with the radical 言 as 試, which is an error).
