或掐（苦洽反文字集略云爪甲也文字典說云手抓掐也從手臽聲臽音陷臽字上從人下從臼今在臼中也臼音舊經從爪作搯非也）。

Or pinch (或掐) (ku + qia fan. The Wenzi jilüe says: "Fingernails." The Wenzidian shuo says: "To scratch or pinch with fingers. Composed with 'hand' [手] semantic and 臽 phonetic; 臽 is pronounced xian; the character 臽 has 'person' [人] above and 臼 below, representing being inside a mortar; 臼 is pronounced jiu." In the scripture it is written with 'claw' [爪] as 搯, which is erroneous).
