耎音（上儒兖反鄭注周禮云耎柔也說文從大而聲也下邑吟反說文云音聲也生於心有節於外謂之音從言含一會意字也）。

耎音: The first character has the fanqie [r]ú + [y]ǎn. Zheng['s] commentary on the Rites of Zhou says: "耎 means soft." The Shuowen [jiezi] says it has the radical 大 and 而 phonetic. The second character has the fanqie [y]ì + [y]īn. The Shuowen [jiezi] says: "Music/sound (音). It arises in the mind and is regulated externally; it is called sound. Composed of 'speech' (言) containing 'one' (一); it is an ideogram."
