除禳（讓章反鄭注周禮云却變異曰禳廣雅謝也說文磔禳祀除殃癘古者燧人禜子所造從示襄聲禜音榮敬反）。

除禳 (dispelling by expiatory sacrifice; the second character has the fanqie [讓章, ràng-zhāng]. Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary to the Zhouli says: 'Warding off anomalies is called ráng.' The Guangya says: 'To propitiate.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'A dismemberment and expiation sacrifice to eliminate pestilence and calamity, instituted in antiquity by Suiren's son Yingshen; derived from 示 (altar) with 襄 phonetic.' 禜 has the fanqie [榮敬, róng-jìng]).
