俳優（上敗埋反說文戱笑也從人從排省聲也下憶鳩反蒼頡篇云俳優樂人也顧野王曰樂人所為戱笑以自悅也說文俳戲也優倡也竝從人形聲字經文從手或從彳作徘𢖒竝非）。

俳優 [actors and jesters] (The first character has the fanqie [敗+埋] pái. The Shuowen says: playfulness and laughter; it is composed of 'person' with an abbreviated pái phonetic. The second character has the fanqie [憶+鳩] yōu. The Cang Jie pian says: páiyōu are musicians and entertainers. Gu Yewang says: playfulness and laughter made by entertainers to bring joy. The Shuowen says: pái means playful mockery; yōu means entertainer. Both are phono-semantic characters with the 'person' radical. In the sūtra text it is written with 'hand' or with 'step' as 徘𢖒; both are incorrect).
