摽擊（上匹遙反毛詩傳曰摽落也集訓云摽損也或從攴作[票*支]弃也攴普卜反說文摽擊也從手票聲也票必消反經作飄非經義也案郭璞云旋風也說文迴風也字書云吹之也）。

Strike and hit [摽擊] (the upper character is pi + yao fan [biao]. The Commentary on the Mao Odes says: 'Biao means to fall.' The Jixun says: 'Biao means to damage.' Alternatively written with the pū radical as [票*支], meaning to discard; pū is pu + bu fan [pu]. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Biao means to strike; it takes the 'hand' radical and piao phonetic; piao is bi + xiao fan [piao].' In the sūtra it is written as 飄, which is not the meaning of the sūtra. We note Guo Pu says: 'A whirling wind.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'A returning wind.' Dictionaries say: 'To blow upon it.')
