嘲誚（上䝤交反䝤音謫狡反爾雅嘲謔也調也或從言作謿說文從周作周音竹包反下樵曜反蒼頡篇誚訶也考聲戲笑也韻英責也說文嬈也或作譙竝形聲字也謔音香約反）。

Ridiculing and scolding (嘲誚: the upper character [嘲] is pronounced *zh[ao]* + *[j]iao* [zhāo]; *zh[ao]* (䝤) is pronounced *zh[e]* + *[j]iao* [zhǎo]. The *Erya* says: "*Chao* means to mock; to tease." It is also written with speech (言) as 謿. The *Shuowen [jiezi]* writes it with *zhou* (周) as 啁, pronounced *zh[u]* + *[b]ao* [zhāo]. The lower character [誚] is pronounced *q[iao]* + *[y]ao* [qiào]. The *Cang Jie pian* says: "*Qiao* means to reprimand." The *Kaosheng* says: "To mock and laugh at." The *Yunying* says: "To blame." The *Shuowen [jiezi]* says: "To harass." It is also written 譙; both are phono-semantic characters. *Jue* (謔) is pronounced *x[iang]* + *[y]ue* [xuè]).
