眼睛（積盈反假借字也本無此字案睛者珠子也纂韻云眼黑精也古人呼為眸子俗謂之目瞳子亦曰目瞳人也論文謂之眼根四大所造淨色為體）。

眼睛 [eyeballs] (The second character has the fanqie [積+盈] jīng; it is a phonetic loan character, for originally this character did not exist. Examining it: the jīng is the pearl-like pupil. The Zuanyun says: it is the black essence of the eye. Ancients called it móuzi; the vulgar call it mùtóngzi, and also mùtóngrén. In the treatises, it is called the eye faculty; it takes as its substance the refined material form created from the four great elements).
