黶點 [black spots and speckles] (The first character has the fanqie [伊+琰] yǎn. The Kaosheng says: a mole. The Shuowen says: blackness within the flesh; it is composed of 'black' with yàn phonetic. The second character has the fanqie [丁+琰] diǎn. The Kaosheng says: to extinguish. Wang's commentary on the Chuci says: a stain. The Shuowen says: a small black mark; it is composed of 'black' with zhān phonetic).
