頟廣（雅格反從客作額俗字也方言額顙也釋名云幽州人謂額為鄂今江外吳音呼額為訝竝邊方訛也說文從頁從格省聲也）。

頟廣 [broad forehead] (The first character has the fanqie [雅+格] é. Writing it with 'guest' as 額 is a vulgar character. The Fangyan says: é is the brow. The Shiming says: people of Youzhou call the forehead è; today in Wu dialects south of the Yangtze they pronounce forehead as yà; these are all dialectal corruptions of border regions. The Shuowen says: it is composed of 'head' with an abbreviated gé phonetic).
