檮昧（上道刀反孟子檮無知之皃也說文從木壽聲下梅貝反廣雅云昧闇也左傳云不別五色之章日昧說文云從日未聲也）。

檮昧 (The fanqie of the upper character is dào + dāo [táo]. The Mengzi states: "Táo is the appearance of ignorance." The Shuowen jiezi states: "It takes its radical from mù ('tree') and its sound from shòu." The fanqie of the lower character is méi + bèi [mèi]. The Guangya states: "Mèi means dark." The Zuozhuan states: "Not distinguishing the patterns of the five colors is called mèi." The Shuowen jiezi states: "It takes its radical from rì ('sun') and its sound from wèi").
