蚖蠍 (The fanqie of the upper character is wǔ + guān [yuán]; the fanqie of the lower character is xuān + yè [xiē]. The Jixun states: "An insect that stings people." The Gujin zhengzi states: "It takes its radical from chóng ('insect') and its sound from xiē." In the original text of the sūtra it is written as 蝎, pronounced hé, which is incorrect).
