Making a cord (作索; the second character has the fanqie 桑 + 洛. Gu Yewang says: 'Twisting a rope makes a suǒ.' The Chuci states: 'Twisting silk together to make a cord.' It is formed with [孛-子] and takes mì [糸] as its phonetic element; [孛-子] has the fanqie 𦘺 + 味, and niǔ [紐] has the fanqie 尼 + 隣).
