關鍵（乾蹇反鄭眾注周禮云鍵官籥也方言云自關而東陳楚之間謂籥為鍵說文鉉也從金建聲亦作揵經文從門作闥古文字）。

Lock and key (關鍵: pronounced 乾蹇 [jiàn]. Zheng Zhong's commentary on the Zhouli says: "Jiàn is an official lock-bolt." The Fangyan says: "From the passes eastward, between Chen and Chu, a key is called a jiàn." The Shuowen says: "A crossbar." It has the metal radical [金] and jiàn [建] as phonetic. It is also written 揵. The scripture text writes it with the gate radical as 闥, which is an ancient character).
